Silver suboxide, Ag4O

Several experimenters have described the formation of a Silver suboxide, Ag4O, by reduction of silver compounds, but the subject seems to merit further investigation. Silver subfluoride is said to react with water-vapour at 180° C., yielding a black powder of the formula Ag4O. It is also said to be produced by reduction of Silver monoxide by hydrogen at 38° C., and by other methods.
